12月6日 The Whole Fruit & Nothing but the Fruit. This is what separates Xango from the rest. Find out what Xango can do for you. www.ZpowerofX.com Why Whole Fruit
Mike Pugh Sr. Manager of R&D October 10, 2007 I have been asked many times why we use whole fruit and not extracts and concentrates. This question has been asked repeatedly during my 16 years in the industry. I have heard arguments from how the whole plant has the essence of Mother Nature to how we do peer reviewed double blind studies on multiple active compounds. As I have listened to these arguments, I have come to some conclusions. I would like to share a few of them with you. At the beginning, I also thought that all plants had a few active ingredients and that standardizing and concentrating those ingredients made them better and easier to study. It was just too difficult to study a plant that had hundreds or thousands of chemicals and thus be able to control all of the variables. That is true. Today’s method of testing and validating physiological activity is done with isolating active components from a medicinal plant that contains numerous active compounds. This method has saved millions of lives and has improved the quality of life for many. As we see with present drug treatments, though, we find that we have a lot more side effects when we concentrate and isolate. What we miss today is the possibility of synergetic and antagonist activity that comes from whole foods. We miss the fact that a little of a lot of things over a long period of time is better than having to treat with one chemical in large doses over a short period of time. I was reading a paper by Kevin Spelman where he nailed what I have been thinking for a long time. He presented at a conference in Montreal, talking about how we influence the environment but also how the environment influences us. As we influence the environment or plants they, in turn, change. We then consume those plants and our bodies change to survive. I really enjoyed how he interwove everything together and made everything interdependent on each other. This communication between organism and environment is called chemistry. In our early diets, humans consumed between 80-220 plants and thus were exposed to a very high number of phytochemicals in the range of 8,000-22,000 (and quite likely higher). In our modern diet, we consume about 10,000 compounds including pesticides but, compared to the hunter/gather nature of our ancestors, we have seen a reduction in our consumption of phytochemicals. Why is this important? Our bodies are designed to consume thousands of chemicals in low dosages. In our present diets, we consume lesser amounts of phytochemicals in higher concentrations. We have developed a detoxification route in our bodies called P450 enzymes. These enzymes are able to detoxify our bodies from harmful substances and they are also able to change inert substances into helpful chemicals in our body. P450 enzymes have the ability to evolve rapidly. Genes allow animals to generate a metabolic resistance to plant compounds that are designed to dissuade grazers and also allow plants to generate new compounds to deter herbivory. Plants and animals have inherit processes that allow them to adapt to their environment and use what makes them stronger and inhibit what makes them weaker. P450 in plants and animals have been engaged in the cyclical process of dissuading each other and helping each other when it fit. Over time, this relationship has developed into a real partnership. We have all seen now how plants and humans coexist. Take soybeans, for example. They have much to offer humankind and are cultivated and used as food around the world. Where they are consumed in moderate amounts, they seem to show lower levels of estrogenic disease. Also flavonoids are huge in the plant kingdom. We have seen in the world where daily consumption of green tea can lead to lower levels of disease, like heart disease and cancer. In Asia, large fields are dedicated to the growing of soybeans and green tea. Green tea and soy beans are much more abundant with the human partnership than if they had grown in the wild—humans are much healthier with these plants at their disposal than if the had to wild craft them. Is there a relationship? I think so. As we have broken down the mangosteen fruit and looked at its individual chemical components, we have seen hundreds if not thousands of phytochemicals in specific quantities. In fact, some of the chemicals have not yet been identified nor do we know what synergistic or antagonistic effects they have. We have also noticed physiological changes in some of the actives when they are separated and then added back to the whole fruit. Are we ready to say that xanthones are the only active? Are we ready to say that xanthones separated from the whole fruit are better? Do we understand the plant so well; we can pick and choose which phytochemicals to keep and which ones we don’t need? I would say no. We are now
seeing drug research start to target multiple substances on multiple
sites. We have also seen research where they combine multiple drug and
nutritional items at lower dosages and have better outcomes with fewer
side effects. For example, Wald and Law combine six drugs all below
their standard dose. Those drugs are baby aspirin, three blood pressure
drugs, a statin and folic acid. It extended life by 11 years with
little or no side effects. What scientists are finding is that there is
a matrix of pathways that different chemicals use. They work well
together when delivered as nature intended. Whole plants seem to have
more activity and fewer side effects when they are left in their own
state. Kevin Spelman quotes saying, “Nature’s mixtures seem to function
with broad specificity and low affinity. This phytochemical economy, an
efficient and broad spectrum ensembles of constituents, would not
likely act on just one target, but on multiple targets, functionally
converging on biochemical pathways. Thus, phytochemical matrices, with
their ensemble properties tripping multiple targets, may provide an
enhanced pharmacological efficiency as compared to isolated compounds.
Moreover, the use of phytomedicines, as compared to isolated chemicals,
may offer a safer clinical strategy in the treatment of many diseases.”
I could not say it better.
To end this blog, I want to quote one more paper from the American
Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which states: “We believe that the
evidence suggests that antioxidants are best acquired through
whole-food consumption, not as a pill or an extract.” Why do we use the
whole fruit and not extracts and concentrates? I think the facts stand
for themselves. 10月2日 Looking for just a Few good People! Help! The amazing product Xango is a product that is taking the
world by storm and changing lives. It is only surpassed by the incredible
business opportunity that is available here, because everyone needs this
product. 9月10日 This stuff is incredible! I was recently introduced to Xango juice which is a juice made from the mangosteen fruit in Thailand and I have to say after a 4 week trial, I am in awe of not only the juice, but the incredible income potential that this business opportunity offers. First of all for my testimony. I had ran out of my blood pressure medication in early July and my prescription had expired. I have recently moved and I either had to go back to my old Dr., in my other town or find a new one here. I kept putting it off and putting it off, finally realizing that not being on my medication is not too wise. So I finally made an appointment with a Dr. in my new town and received my check up. I had told him I neede d a refill on my blood pressure medication, but he said there was no need. My blood pressure was actually lower than it had been on the medication and it was very good, much to his surprise. Also, my diabetes is under control without medication, my psorasis is clearing up. As I said, these results have left me wanting to share this with everyone I can. If your just looking for better health, you have to try this and try it for a month before judging your results. If your looking for better health and an awesome business opportunity, taking advantage in the next trillion dollar industry of Health & Nutrition, look no further, Xango is rocking the network marketing industry, but don't take my word for it, look at it for yourself. Check out this website. Xango, Changing your world To your health, and wealth. So Look Good, Feel the Energy and take charge this summer and earn some extra bucks. Talk to you soon, Terry 5月7日 Did you know?Did you know that only 3% of the US population earns over six figures per year? And did you know that only 3% of the US population spends 30 minutes per day on personal development? hmmm. Coincidence? You decide, but it may be time to get a library card. Have a prosperous day. Terry 5月3日 One thing I have learned in life.If there is one thing I have learned in this life, it is this. Wherever you are, be there. Put your full focus and effort into everything you do and you will live a life with no regrets. Just a quick thought. Have a wonderful, prosperous day! Terry 5月2日 What do you really want? Be Specific! In church last week our minister refered to a prosperity workbook that really can help you goal set and get in touch with your dreams. I won't mention the book here, because I haven't read it yet and want to touch on it more thoroughly once I do, but he mentioned an exercise of writing down 50 things that you desire. Now I have done this type of exercise many times before, but it has been awhile and I felt it was time to refresh my list of things I want and set some new goals so I went at it. The key point he mentioned that the book refered to was to be as specific as possible when creating your list. I have heard other great prosperity teachers mention this and have read this in other goal books that taught the same thing. There is a reason. There is definetly something to this. This got me thinking back of all the good things I have obtained or accomplished after express them and one thing became very clear to me. The things I could cleary and concisely describe in my lists were the things that I obtained. This rule should not be ignored as you write down your desires. Writing goals is a great exercise, but you have to touch, taste, feel & smell them in your mind. Think of them as already obtained. Live them in your mind as you put them to paper and you will obtain them. God, your soul, the universe, whatever you want to call it, can easily bring to fruition anything you can cleary and concisely desire and express. I encourage everyone to do this exercise. It's fun, challenging and rewarding. Think back yourself on all the things you have obtained in the past and what your minds process was for obtaining it. It could have been a 1970 red corvette, with silver trim and black leather seats that you just had to have and you could clearly see yourself cruising down the highway in. Have fun and let your imagine run wild. Dust off your dreams and live. Remember, don't just say "I want a vacation." Say something like " I am going to Hawaii by the end of this year and I am going to learn to scuba. I will get up every morning at 6 am, fix my lemon herbal tea, gaze out my hotel window and smell the salty ocean air before I go after my day." That is how to live it before you do. Enjoy! To your success, Terry 4月30日 A Fresh StartIt was a beautiful spring day yesterday. Temps in the upper 70's. In Wisconsin at least this is a first this time of year. So everyone is outside. My wife Sue and i decided to go play tennis, get a little exercise, enjoy the weather. It was awesome it felt great. As we were chasing our errant shots around the court I noticed a group of guys getting ready to have softball practice at a diamond in the park. It brought back a lot of memories for me as I played softball in a league for over 20 years. I missed it yesterday, but the thing I thought of was that feeling you get at the beginning of every new season. This is the year I break out and have a great year, or the team is going to be better this year and who know maybe we can win it all. I love that feeling. The feeling of a clean slate. A fresh start. That is something I think we can remind ourselves on a regular basis. No matter where we are in life, we can always start over. Every new day brings new opportunities, new adventures. It is exciting. Dust off your dreams if you haven't done so in awhile. Find new opportunities for growth and let your light shine. If we haven't found our true assignment yet in life, maybe it's because we aren't looking. Today is a new day. A great day for a fresh start. God Bless, Terry 4月29日 Back on the horseHi everyone, I hope this spring morning finds you all doing well. As you see it has been awhile since my last blog posting as I have taken some time away from the home business arena to kind of regroup and recenter myself. Don't get me wrong, I am still involved with GDI and am always on the lookout for a good home based business, but I have been spending my time on other areas of my life that needed attending to. Of course personal development is always something that is part of my day, but as most of you understand there are sometimes things and people that can be neglected in the midst of a home business campaign that attention. So with that said, I'm back and I just wanted to get a quick note to say I will be once again posting home business and personal development type messages, but also using this blog as sort of a daily or semi daily observation or journal type thingy. I just thought it might be interesting to share with you my thoughts on many areas of life. As always your feedback is encouraged and I do look forward to hearing from you and delivering to you my deepest thought and I truly hope that some of what I post can be a help to you in your daily lives. God bless, Terry 11月7日 Exciting Special Announcement!I am extremely excited to share this announcement of an incredible life altering event that is about to take place this November 20, 2006. 10月11日 Take Advantage of Your Home Business. There are many advantages to having your own home based business besides the obvious ones of time freedom and the ultimate, building massive wealth. You say, "yeah but who cares if I have those?" Ah, but one that is often overlooked when someone is considering a home based business venture is the tax advantages that are present.
There are many expenses associated with running any business and a home based personal business is no different. Many of these expenses are deductible and you want to know what those are so when you are building massive wealth and enjoying time freedom, you don't want the IRS to crush you at tax time.
There are the obvious startup cost and membership fees associated with your home business, but some other deductible expenses may be, office supplies, internet subscriptions, phone expenses, postal expenses, travel expenses to name a few. You may even take a deduction for using a spare bed room as an office in your home. Make sure you talk to an accountant about all the deductions that you should be aware of to maximize your tax deductions.
There are many systems to track your expenses available to us and you want to look into what works best for you, but one that I use is simple. I purchased an accordian file when I started my business that has a pocket for each month. Every receipt that I acquire in transacted my business goes into that file in the appropriate month. At the end of each month, I take out the receipts and categorize them by expense type and enter them into a simple spread sheet. You can use a computer of just create a simple notebook by month listing your income and expenses for your business. For example, all my office supply receipts would go into one pile and I would tally up the months total and put it into my expense column under office supply expense. Simple right? Then you would do the same for each category and tally the total for all your monthly expenses. This is also a great tool for tracking where your money is going and planning out your budget each month.
This simple technique will make tax time a breeze for you and/or your accountant. At tax time, just pull up your spreadsheet or your notebook and all the information that you will need is right there for the year.
Again, make sure you talk to your CPA about all the deductions that you qualify for and take advantage. This will make your home business experience a even more pleasurable one. God Bless,
Terry 9月14日 Away We GrowThe thing that excites me the most about the opportunity I am involved in is the opportunity to grow and to become a more valuable asset, not only to myself, but for my family, my downline, etc. I think sometimes we become complacent and start to feel satisfied or comfortable about where we are in life and really take for granted what life and its lessons has to offer. I know I have.
I have had some successes in my life, which I am sure most of you reading this have as well, but often times after a major triumph in my life I find myself in a major lull. I sleep later, miss a work out or two, watch more tv, etc. Then a few months pass and I start to ask myself why my business isn't going anywhere, or why my midsection is protruding. That feeling of, my life just isn't working the way it once was. It doesn't take any deep analyses to realize that I have rested on my laurels, gotten comfortable, complacent. Someone once said, "our biggest enemy is today's success. I have found that to be such a true statement.
Our companies CEO Matt Morris attributes his Multi million dollar success to emercing his self in personal development books, tapes, Cds, etc. When you hear stories such as Matt's and realize where some of the world's most successful people have come from and what they have accomplished, to me it is like a measuring stick, telling me, that there is so much more to conquer out there. This is where I am and this is where I could be. So much more to become and experience and that is an exciting feeling.
Again, that is why I love my company, because it reminds me and offers me something to grow day by day, week by week, month by month. Accomplishing a major goal in life is all about stacking together small successes. Becoming the kind of person it takes to reach the goal. As Jim Rohn says, "It is not the goal itself, but what we become in pursuit of that goal." As we become more we are so much more valuable to those around us. What an exciting thought.
I encourage all that read this today. Start investing more in yourself. Take the class, join the club, get out of your comfort zone. Be more. Have more. Your worth it. God Bless,
Terry 8月22日 Pick Yourself Up, Dust Yourself Off & Carry On My wife Sue and I celebrated our wedding anniversay this past weekend. We planned a nice weekend getaway, so we left early Saturday morning for Milwaukee with plans of getting some shopping done before we could check in to our hotel Saturday afternoon.
This all went went well, but I have to admit that after walking around the mall for two hours and then walking around downtown Milwaukee for another hour or so, we were getting a little tired so we decided to go to the hotel and see if we could checkin a little early.
It was about a 20 minute drive to the hotel. I was really anticapating taking a nice long nap before we went out to dinner. This was a nice hotel, we had stayed there before, but this time something unexpected happened.
I pulled up to our suppossed hotel, and dropped Sue off at the front door. I waited and I waited and kept wondering what was taking her so long. I had the Cardinals/Cubs baseball game on in the car so I was entertained. She finally came out and to my surprise she said we didn't have a reservation there, to wait here until she figured out what went wrong.
Well, after listening to my ball game for awhile longer Sue eventually came back and said she had booked the wrong hotel, our hotel was up the road a few miles. Ok, I was a little irritated, but I figured, no big deal. That was until we drove up to the hotel where Sue mistakenly booked us. As we got closer I could see the paint peeling on the front of the building and it was obvious the roof needed work. A sick feeling came over me. Then we checked into our room. Oh my Lord, what a dump! It was small, dingy, unkept. To me it was a complete nightmare. I had so anticapted the other hotel.
So here we were. I was devasted, disapointed, distraught, frustrated, you name it., and I certainly let my poor wife or many years know about her mistake.
I went to sit in a chair in the room, to stew, but it broke. Honest to God, it broke, so I moved over to the bed and began sulking for a good fifteen minutes or so. Poor me, oh poor me. Sue just stayed in the background apologizing for the mixup.
I started thinking about our wedding night, which we spent in our car, because it broke down and for some reason that made me laugh. After that , I just decided I have to snap out of this. I am not going to let this little mishap ruin our weekend.
We started sharing some stories of our wedding night and we both started to laugh. Then we made plans to find a nice place and went out and had a great time.
It turned out to be a great weekend after all. It will be one that I will probably never forget. It was all because I changed my attitude, my thinking. It could have been a horrible weekend if I had let it. I had the power to change my attitude. I wasn't always like this. In the past I would have let my sour attitude ruin the whole weekend.
The point of this story is, that in life, in our businesses, whatever, we are going to realize many set backs and disapointments, but we have the power, we. you, me, have the power to turn it around, not let it stifle us, not give up.
So many people give up when they hit roadblocks. It is ok to get mad, disapointed, frustrated, but we can use the setbacks as a catalyst to become more, to become better. Those who perservere realize the big prize.
As I said, I used to be a person who would have let the set back beat me, but with years of personal development and personal growth training that I have invested in to gain more wisdom and become a better person, I have become a person that will not let anything stop him. It is a decision that is available to all of us. To grow and become more or be defeated. It isn't an easy journey, but boy is it worth it. To your success, to your growth
Terry A. Poster 8月14日 The Simple Life We celebrated our youngest son's birthday over the weekend. He turned 19 on Saturday. I was trying to remember my nineteenth birthday, what I did, who I was with, etc., but I came up empty. I guess 1977 was longer ago than I thought it was.
I do know that in the summer of '77, there was no internet, compact discs, mp3 players, cellphones, but we managed to survive somehow. I'm laughing as I write this, because I remember thinking my parents were stone age, because they talked about growing up without television.
I do enjoy all the technilogical advantages we enjoy today, but the plain truth was it was much
more simple back in the day. We had less choices, but there was always enough. Today things are
expanding so rapidly and things are a becoming so specialized and defined that it is easy to get
caught up becoming involved in too much and spreading ourselves too thin. We have to make
a conscious effort to scale our life back and to choose only what we need. It's hard sometimes,
because so much looks so good.
It certainly applies to those of us who have a home based business. There are so many great
opportunities out there that it makes it difficult to choose one and focus on growing just that
one business at a time. The same with the ways to market your business. There are so many
successful ways to get the word out, that if you are not careful, you are tempted to try this
and try that, that you never seem to get anywhere.
Although it can be difficult to succeed in the home business arena with all the choices
available to us, the great thing is that we have many more opportunities to become succesful
as a home entrepreneur than we had back in the summer of '77. The key is to live simply.
Don't spread yourself to thin. Plan your day, your month, your year and your life with the
awareness that simple = best.
Don't be a victim of too many choices that will suck you in and stifle your progress.
Choose your opportunity, a few simple ways to market it and put your drive, desire, determination
to work and accomplish your goals each day, each week, each month, each year and live the life
you deserve.
Find a mentor that is already enjoying the success you desire and ask for help. I'm sure you will
find that most people that are enjoying success have there priorites set and there life simplfied and are
targeted for success.
To your success, the simple way, sincerely,
Terry A. Poster

8月5日 Focus, Focus There are so many things out there today to grab our attention. With the internet you can literally look up anything your heart desires and then some. Often times there are just too many choices, too many things out there, that it can be very overwhelming, and quite possibly be diverting our attention off the things we really should be focusing on.
If you have a home based business for example, everyone seems to have the best way to advertise, the best business building techniques, the most inexpensive 1000% guaranteed marketing technique or business system. The list goes on and on. How do you choose?
If you have any done any form of internet marketing, you surely know what I mean. It's confusing, frustrating, hair pulling out stuff and believe me, I can ill afford to lose anymore hair.
An important point to make here is that it can be so overwhelming that it difuses our focus. I have to admit that this point in my life has got to be the most difficult time I have ever had focusing on a project.
But I realize that I have to stay focused at my task at hand if it is going to produce the results I am looking for.
So what do you do? You have to pick and chosse the techniques, systems, etc., that you are going to use to do your business and you have to stick with them, focus on them, maybe make a few variations from time to time, but commit to them, see them through. The same goes for your business. Commit to one, see it through, because if your doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and you keep looking over your shoulder at what every suppossed guru is doing, you are going to get guess what? A little bit of this and a little bit of that, but not much more than that.
Think of it this way. You have a cardboard box that you want to make a hole in. What tool would you use, a butter knife or a steak knife to accomplish this goal? The end of a butter knife is difused, more spread out than the sharp focused point of a steak knife. My guess is you would choose the steak knife to get the job done most effectively. Try this as experiment if you like and I am sure you would clearly see that the knife with the most focused point would clearly be the most effective tool to accomplish your goal.
I love the old saying " If you chase more than one rabbit, they will all get away, but if you put your focus on one, you can quickly accomplish your goal."
So really think about this as you approach your business or anything else in life for that matter.
Stick with one good business, and one good business system and you will be amazed how quickly you will start to accomplish your goals.
To your Success,
Terry 7月28日 Time Management-Getting the Most from Your Day Have you ever experienced that early morning, overwhelming, what the heck do I do first, and how am I going to get all of this done feeling?
Anyone that has ever been involved with an office job, a home based business, or small business knows what I am refering to.
All those things swimming around your head, giving you sort of a panicky, helpless feeling. I am sure at some point we all have experienced this.
But the great thing is, is that we don't have to feel this way. By taking just ten minutes each morning, we can create a day that is completely manageable.
I used to think, I have got too much to do to even take ten minutes out of my morning. Believe me, once you make this ten minute "Brain Drain", part of your daily routine, you will never want to start another day without it again.
I call this a "Brain Drain", because it is just that. You are releasing everything that is buzzing around up there.
Start by jotting down everything, and I mean everything that is on your mind, not just business items, you will experience a feeling of mental relief. It is truly a great feeling. You will know the first time you do this exercise.
So now you have jotted everything down on a sheet of paper and released everything that was on your mind. Your next step is to take the things on that list that you can delegate to someone else and put it on a sperate sheet of paper that says something like "Delegation List". You will deal with this later.
Next take all the things on your main list that does not apply to today and put them on another sheet of paper and call it something like "For Future Reference." This will be an ongoing sheet for you to keep.
This will leave your main list with items that only apply to today. Your daily bible.
Now comes priority time for your today's to do list. You can use either the alpha or the numeric system. I prefer the numeric system. It is a personal preference, that's all.
Now rate your items in order of importance, starting with 1 or the letter A, which ever system you are using. Work your way down the list to the least important items until you have a mark by each item. You are now prepared, organized and ready to tackle your day in a highly efficient manner.
You start your day with the 1 or A item and cross each item off as you complete it. What an incredible feeling of accomplishment this is. Don't worry if you don't finish everything on your list. You just transfer those items on to tommorows list, and they will get taken care of down the line.
Be sure to delegate the items on your delegation list each day and cross those items out as well when they are completed by whoever they are delegate to. The same with your "For Future Reference" list. Keep adding to it as you need to and cross them off as they are complete. This all seems simple, but believe me this is a very effective technique.
Repeat this same process everyday. If you keep us with this routine for the next few weeks it will become a habit. A habit that you will want to keep. You will be amazed at how much more you have accomplished, how organized your life will become and how much better you feel mentally. Don't take my word for it. Get started tommorow and you will see for yourself.
To your success, see you at the top,
Terry

7月20日 The Beauty of LeverageAny successful network marketer/MLM professional will tell you that in order to be successful in this industry, you have to create leverage. The more leverage you create, the more successful you will be.
So what is leverage? It is one getting paid for the efforts of many. What a beautiful thought. All of us that are in the industry have that opportunity.
Zig Ziglar will tell you "To get what you want, you have to help others get what they want." When you do that in the MLM/Network marketing industry, or most areas in life for that matter, you will be very successful.
So how do you help others get what they want? By becoming a student of the system. Any successful network marketing/MLM company or group within that company, will have a duplicatable business system in place for you to apply your advertising dollars and efforts and should provide you with adequate training. It is the responsibility of any new person or downline member, joining the company or group to seek out mentors to learn the necessary techniques and obtain the necessary tools for success. This may or may not be your sponsor. You may have to go further upline, but by all means, seek out someone who is successful. Too many new people are afraid to go to their upline, feeling they won't want to bother with them. On the contrary, your upline wants you to come to them, they want to help you succeed, because let's face it, your success is their success. When they help you succeed, their paycheck grows. I always say, that is what I love about this industry. You help people and it will reward you very generously.
As far as the upline goes, it is their responsibility to guide you to the tools and training that you need, and to be their for advice and further guidance. It is their responsibility to remain a student and to seek out further knowledge to pass on to their downline students so they can continue to grow. It is the upline's or mentors responsibility to turn that successful student into a teacher so that their team can continue to grow without them, thus creating the leverage they desire.
All and all, the main points of creating leverage in network marketing are to become a student of your business system, seek out mentors, grow & learn to become a teacher of they system, never stop learning and share what you learn with as many students as you can find, teach them to do the same, and you will have an amazing success story and reap an awesome financial reward.
To your success,

7月11日 Dream Like a ChildHello everyone and happy mid summer. Tonight is the All Star game for Major League baseball. It's called the mid summer classic, because it showcases the best talent from both leagues in this game. I know for many of you reading this, it's just another baseball game on TV, but for me it has always been something I looked forward to. As a child growing up I always had a dream of being a Major League Baseball player, like many other kids. I played baseball in the summer everyday I could. I used to dream about it literally. I would envision myself on the mound in the World Series dominating the opponent or making a great catch to save the game, or better yet hitting a homerun to win it all. These dreams and visions were very really and exciting to me as a child. It was a rude awakening to me at about the age of 19 or 20 when I realized that my dream had past me by. It was a hapless feeling of what do I do now with my life. To live without a dream or a purpose is the worse possible feeling anyone can have. ' I didn't want to go to work or to school, because I had always had this dream that I was going to be different, I would be above that 9-5 grind, living paycheck to paycheck. I dreaded that, but now my dream wasn't real anymore and I didn't think I had a choice, but of course I did. I eventually went to school and got a degree and set out into the real world only to find it indeed wasn't for me. But to me, this was a good thing, because it got me dreaming again. Visualizing again. Wanting more. I hated sitting behind a desk or doing mundane labor tasks. I started day dreaming about what it would be like to be my own boss, work at home, make more money, drive better cars, have a great home, go on vacations when I wanted and to where I wanted to go. I still have these dreams and I relish them. The point of this whole story is to dust of your dreams. Dream like a child again. Want to be more. It's a great feeling to have a purpose. The joy indeed is in the journey and when you reach your destination, celebrate, but not for long because it is time to make new goals, have new visions, reach for the sky. Live like there is no tommorow. It is easy to dream as a child because we have no limitations. Put yourself in child mode and have no boundaries on what you can accomplish. As an adult it is harder to dream because we are programed by society as to what we are supposed to be and do. Shed that program, be alive, find your passion and live it everyday. Cut out pictures of the things you desire in your life and paste them on a dream wheel, all over your office or anywhere in your home. This is a priceless exercise. It allows your subconcious mind to guide you. The good thing about being an adult now and having dreams is that you have the wisdom and experience to go with those dreams, things we lacked as a child. When you dream like a child, put your wisdom and desire behind that dream, there is no stopping you. Live with passion, live big, dream big. Live the life you always dreamed of. Die with no regrets. I was thinking the other day about some of the key ingredients one must use to succeed in our business and ironically most of them seemed to start with the letter P. I want to share 3 of those with you today. First and foremost I believe is PASSION. You have to love what you are doing and why you are doing it. You have to love your product and that must ooze out of you day in and day out. It must be easy for you to talk about and share. You have to live it and think about it day and day out. Your business must really be a part of you. It must seem like second nature, like the hours fly by when you are involved in it. If this is how it feels for you, you are definetly in the right business. If you dread sitting down at your desk, making those phone calls, sending those emails, getting on those conference calls. Then you might want to look at another business or job. People that have the most success in this industry, jump out of bed and can't wait to get at it. They can't wait to tell others about how their life has been changed by their amazing product and/or service. This is crucial. Second, you need patience. Success rarely happens overnight. When you find the right business stick with it. Make adjustments, seek advice, but don't give up. You should give your business your all for at least 18 months before you decision to quit or put your efforts elsewhere. Too many people quit without realizing a simple adjustment here or there or gaining advice from someone who had been through something similiar would have got them over the hump. Worse yet, they quit when they were so close to turning it around. Think Patience. Third, is Perserverance. You are going to have good days and bad days, but that is life. You can't know good without bad and vice versa. Look at your business as a growing process. Just think of what you will become by perservering and experiencing all the successes and failures. This experience will make YOU so much more. I have a sign on my office wall here that reads "Any Dream Worth Having, is a Dream Worth Fighting For." Dream BIG, practice the 3 p's daily. Prosper. God Bless, Terry A. Poster |
